Welcome to Ladies of Harley
Thank you for visiting our web page. We had a great year last year. We actively supported several HOG fundraisers that donated thousands of dollars as well as toys to local charities. This year LOH will host several other events that support local charities - and a few rides JUST FOR FUN!
A Little about Ladies of Harley:
- LOH is not a separate organization, but a benefit of HOG. There is no extra charge to be an LOH member.
- LOH encourages women riders to participate in all HOG and LOH events.
- LOH welcomes and supports women riders whether they ride as passengers or ride their own bike.
- LOH promotes a comfortable and safe riding environment for all riders.
- TO RIDE AND HAVE FUN!
LOH meeting are held immediately following the regular monthly Chapter meetings (1st Saturday of every month)
LOH Updates
(09/29/11) Hi Ladies -
The two events I have listed below are considered "OPEN" events, so everyone is welcome....if you have a sister, friend or anyone whom you might think would love to come along and have a good time please invite them, but just remember to give me a head count so the Clay Escape will have all the materials needed. I ask for the head count by the 17th of October.
I am hoping all of you were able to get a Groupon for the Clay Escape in Fort Mill that was offered this weekend. If you were not able to purchase one you still can come and do the class with us. So please give me a shout out as to who is all planning on coming out with us that night. According to the Groupon we will be doing a glass craft. Please check out the web site. www.clayescape.com <http://www.clayescape.com/> . The website will list exactly what glass project we can do and Jennifer has asked we each give her a call to let her know what you would like to do so she will be prepared for the evening. While I was there she showed me some great examples of key chains, pendants, Christmas ornaments. She even said she could do something related to Harley-Davidson. We will most likely have two lovely ladies from the studio assisting us the night of 10/20/11. Everyone should arrive prior to six pm. The class is from 6-8 pm. This is really going to be a great night and I encourage everyone to come out and have a great time. I will be bringing a few flyers to the meeting Saturday for you to take a look at but the best way is to check out the website or even stop by the studio. It is located at 749 Crossroads Plaza (SC 160 at Gold Hill Road). (803)396-8777. They also have a Facebook page.
(09/25/11) Attention LOH Ladies:
We will be having our social this month at "Clay Escape" in Fort Mill on 10/20. There is a "Groupon" Coupon today for the Clay Escape, the catch is it must be purchased today to take advantage of the half price class. I have used Groupon many times and it is safe to use. Please purchase yours today and then either FB me or email me and let me know how many of you will be joining us so I can call and reserve the night there. This should be a hoot --- Don't miss out on this....I look forward to seeing all of you there.
(05/26/11) Hi Ladies -
Hope all is going well for everyone! I have been working on something and it
seems we have a tentative date for a Ladies Night at Cox's on July 13th. It
is a Wednesday night so hopefully everyone can mark their calendars and make
it. Not everything is set as of yet but we will be having a woman police
officer show us some self defense tactics, Jamie is talking about mixing up
martini's for a fee that will be donated to charity. He also promised that
they will put the word out and advertise it so it should be fun! We will be
asking for everyone to bring appetizers and such, more info later as what
all is needed as it all gets ironed out. Hopefully we will get a few more
people to maybe have a table to showcase their items for sale or services,
anyone who knows of someone who may be interested please let me know. Give
them my email and we will work it out.
Also at our last social, Chris Murtha, is thinking about inviting all the
ladies to her home for a pool party/Wine sampling (BYOB). We will send more
info out on that soon. Food and drinks to bring and such...sounds like a
nice way to spend a day...
Thanks Chris, tentative date on this is July 16th.
I have also mailed checks to the two charities we decided on, Agape Hospice
and Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolina - specifically for the Back
Pack Program in York County. We donated $150.00 to each. Your hard work at
the last two fundraisers really helped! Speaking of fund raisers we are
thinking of having another cook-out on June 18th, the day before Fathers
day. It will be from 11-2pm max, but in order to do this we will need
volunteers...I will have a sign up sheet at the next LOH/Chapter meeting on
June 4th. Please consider signing up, it really is a lot of fun and an easy
way to earn some money for LOH.
Speaking of June 4th, I hope everyone is as excited as I am for our First
Annual BAHH (Bad A** Harley Honeys) ride leaving from Cox's after the
meeting and going for lunch at the Retreat at Colonel's Creek. I will be
driving my car for all the ladies that are navigators such as I am ( I have
room for one more person in the car)..if we need more cars consider offering
your own. But don't be left out should be a great way for just the ladies to
be together. Men are not allowed on this one. Rumor has it the guys are
going to their own ride, my hubby is organizing it calling it the Hall Pass
Ride..The shirts were a no go for the BAHH ride, not enough interest. Next
year maybe so, thinking we could do an overnighter somewhere...put on your
thinking caps and we will be sure to think of someplace extraordinary...
Make sure and check out the new Links tab on our website too - share a link and see what everyone else has posted.
See you all on June 4th!
Karen
(04/11/11) Hi Ladies,
At our last LOH meeting we had made a few decisions. First of all we will be donating $150.00 to each of these two charities. The first is to Second Harvest for children to have food during the summer, it a back the pack program. And also to Hospice. Both are very worthy charities. We also decided to have a dinner on 5/17/2001 at Fast Lane in Rock Hill. It is located near the Hilton Hotel off of Dave Lyle Blvd. Please let me know by Sunday who will be attending. I need to give the restaurant a heads up on a count. As always the guys are more than welcome but the ladies will be sitting together and the guys with the guys! The reason we have chosen Fast Lane is they were one of the businesses that supported LOH at our Chili-Cook off by giving us 4 gift cards to use as prizes. It is always great to patronize the places that were kind to us!
On another note, don’t forget the first annual BAHH ride is coming up on June 4th, 2011. I do have an idea and wonder if you would like a t-shirt to commemorate the day. I can get a dark Purple T-shirt with White writing on it for about $10.00 (it will be an extra $2.00 for sizes XXL and above), If I get at least 12 orders. Please email me and let me know who is all coming along on the ride and also if you are interested in a T-Shirt> Please do not miss this ride it will be a hoot. So far I have myself and another in my car so I have room for two more, if we need more cars to ride down (if you are like me and are a passenger on the bike) please consider offering to drive.
Also it has been brought to my attention that we are able to have more fundraising cook-outs at Cox’s on some Saturdays during the upcoming riding season. Anyone interested in doing this, we would need to pick a date or many a few to do this, but also would need people to sign up for the date and help out for a few hours. We could do it from say 11-2 or so on the date(s) we pick.
Please contact me regarding the dinner and also the BAHH Ride.
Drive safe and see you soon
